Open vSwitch

Open vSwitch provides a multilayer virtual switch suitable for production quality

deployment in VM environments. The Open vSwitch provides layer 2 and layer 3 switching

 

Carbon Mountain uses the Open vSwitch project to provide multilayer switching in the KaOS™ hypervisor platform. The Open vSwitch project provides KaOS™ with a comparable feature set to VMWare's distributed vswitch or Cisco's Nexus 1000v. The Open vSwitch project provides critical 802.1Q VLAN tagging, Linux® kernel based forwarding, NIC bonding and visibility into communication between VMs running on the hypervisor.  

Open vSwitch is a core component in KaOS™.
