Netfilter (iptables)
Netfilter is the packet filtering framework inside the Linux® kernel since 2.4.x.
The iptables application is a user-space utility to configure and monitor the framework
Carbon Mountain uses the netfilter framework to provide packet filtering and manipulation in both
the KaOS™ and vKaOS™ platforms. The netfilter framework provides advanced packet filtering
capabilities to KaOS™. Features include the capability to perform network address translation (NAT),
manipulate packet attributes such as TTL, provide basic Quality of Service (QoS) services, rate limiting,
logging and much more.
Netfilter is a core component in KaOS™ and vKaOS™.
